Nigerian Menswear and Womenswear designer Chuks Collins is launching his ready-to-wear women line with his Spring Summer collection called ‘The Journey’ and this move is not without a purpose. The designer with 10 years in the industry presence in Lagos Nigeria had his brand previously named Kholyns Couture; but changed the brand to Chuks Collins after a close shave with death in fatal car crash that caused kidney failure which could have cost him his life, he had to relocate to the United States for a life-saving surgery.
With a renewed purpose, he chose to draw awareness to the disease and do his best to help others and began a nonprofit organisation called ‘Fashion Vie’. He is launching his ready-to-wear line after several successful shows and a styling job at Ralph Lauren in New York. The spring summer collection is aptly titled ‘The Journey’, with clean lines, flattering structures and sexy feel that come in with a range of sizes from 2 to 14.
Pieces from the collection will be available for purchase online and in select stores in New York.
