Letters and prints on your nails are just the cutest thing are they? We can all agree a good manicure makes a woman feel confident and it is an added bonus that a newspaper mani gives people reason to admire your manicure even though it is simply letters or prints.
For a DIY enthusiast like me, I am all for easy uncomplicated steps to glam; and the process of a newspaper mani is a lot simpler than one might think. Here’s how to create your own chic paper transfer.
What you’ll need:
- Transparent base coat
- white or light color nail polish
- rubbing alcohol
- small cup
- newspaper clippings or colorful design of your choice
- nail polish topcoat
Step 1: Apply transparent base coat and then two coats of your base polish. I think white is a classic, but it all depends on you.
Step 2: Cut up your paper or magazine pages into 10 squares
Step 3: Pour some rubbing alcohol into a cup and using a tweezer dip 1 cut up square into the cup
Step 4: After proper soaking, press one of the paper squares onto your nail with the image facing down. Don’t move the paper around. Wait about 30 seconds and remove carefully. The longer you press it the clearer the design will be.
Step 5: Remove the paper carefully, wait 5 mins for the alcohol to evaporate and the nail to dry properly, apply the top coat.
