They told you she was totally bad for you, she would clog your arteries and ruin your heart they said; well they lied.
Palm oil is almost indispensable in traditional meals and there are so many great ways to cook with it. Yet for so long there have been campaigns trying to discredit the use of palm-oil, one enjoyed for many generations in Africa with reports that it contains saturated fats that could clog the arteries and cause heart disease. However, studies show that this type of saturated fat is actually good for your health.
. In this episode with Ayo Elizabeth Olaogun on Eat Right Africa, the certified nutritionist debunks said claims and rather reiterates why the super oil is great for you. It is all about buying fresh oil and not oxidized, processed and hydrogenated oil.
So stop with the guilt, with Vitamins A, E and K, sterols, carotenoids and powerful antioxidants; there’s no reason way it is bad for you as long as you stay close to its natural state as possible. Oh and did you also know palm oil is a great skin moisturizer and sunblock?
