For the regular person, snacks and healthy eating don’t exactly exist in the same sphere, I mean I must be crazy to compare pizza, cake and ice cream with carrots and beans; beans?! Imagine a scenario with a group of friends, together at your place on a weekend for some movie time. Everyone would like something to snack on but it would be great to serve something other than ice cream and popcorn; something more imaginative and of course healthier.

This review episode by Ayo Elizabeth Olaogun (@ayovanelmar) shows you how to make a bean dip, which could be eaten with slices of carrots and cucumbers. From there, it’s all up to you. Want a thick and chunky dip? Use less liquid. Want a smoother, thin dip? Add more liquid. Start out with a small amount and add more as you go until your dip reaches the consistency you like.

You can always freeze a portion of your already cooked beans so that you don’t have to go through the process of cooking some beans solely to make some dip. If you’re wondering what to serve with a dip as this, the simple answer is anything and everything. Serve them with potato chips, tortilla chips, crackers or slather some on dry toast – how you like me now?
